Newsletter 1 - Basics
Welcome to Fix My Screenplay

Welcome and if you haven't done so already, please read through the Introductory Newsletter and take the Writer's Quiz. Thank you.

Let's get started with an Introduction to Advanced Transitions. Learning transitions (there are 79 of them) is vital to becoming an A-list screenwriter. Enjoy the video and special thanks to NBC Universal Television for the clips.

Getting Started

I want every aspiring screenwriter to get the most from the content in Fix My Screenplay's weekly newsletters. We're going to be covering a lot of material, and I've carefully prepared the content in a way that gradually introduces the writer to the subject matter and provides instructions to elevate the writer to an advanced level. Many topics are overlapping, which will require referencing content from previously published newsletters, therefore, I suggest the following:

💡
Read the Newsletters in Chronological Order: Introductory Newsletter, Newsletter 1, Newsletter 2, Newsletter 3, etc.
💡
Don't skip ahead. This could result in missing crucial steps in the process.
💡
Review all content in each newsletter, even if it covers a familiar area. The industry is constantly changing and the content in the newsletters reflects current industry standards.
💡
Do all assignments. Assignments will appear at the end of each newsletter. While they aren't mandatory, they will help the aspiring screenwriter obtain practical experience and insight.
